Creamware DSP activation issue on Wersi Abacus KS1 (OAS 6) - jpol46 - 12-16-2025
Hello everyone,
I am currently restoring a Wersi Abacus KS1 running OAS 6. After replacing the defective hard drive with an SSD and reinstalling Windows XP, the OAS 6 software now asks for an activation key for the internal Creamware DSP card (CWDT Germany 1999 Rev 1.3).
Unfortunately, Wersi and Wersi-Nord confirmed that it is no longer possible to obtain this key officially. I am therefore looking for a workaround:
- An OAS 6 disk image already activated,
- A Creamware DSP card with an existing license,
- Or any activation files/tools preserved by the community.
For reference, I have attached:
- Two photos showing the front and back sides of the DSP card,
- A photo of the activation request form (Windows XP dialog window) displayed by Wersi OAS 6.
If anyone still has these resources or can point me to an archive, I would be very grateful.

That's quite something. It's true that the installation software will at some point ask for the Creamware DSP card activation key.
I'm sorry to disappoint you regarding your question about whether there are any activation files/tools available, there aren't any.
There are two ways to solve this:
1) Purchase a new Creamware DSP card.
This should still be available from Freddy Schell, who can be reached via the website:
http://www.replay-serviceteam.de/index2.php
Cost: approximately €1000.00.
2) Purchase a used Creamware DSP card.
This is what I did two years ago for my Wersi Verona, whose Creamware card had broken.
The advantage over a new one is that the cards are sometimes offered with as many as 21 software packages, including activations.
And the price is considerably lower, also because a new Creamware card only has one activation for the card itself.

Thank you very much for your detailed reply and for pointing me toward the two possible solutions — either purchasing a new Creamware DSP card from Freddy Schell or looking for a used SG‑12 card with multiple activations on the German second‑hand market.
I wanted to let you know that I did try to contact a seller on Kleinanzeigen.de, as you suggested.
However, as soon as I created my account and sent my first message to the seller, the site logged me out for “unusual activity”. I was asked to reset my password, which I did, but after logging in again my account was first marked as restricted and then completely blocked. I submitted an appeal, but so far I haven’t received any response from their support team.
So unfortunately, I haven’t been able to follow up with the seller yet.
Thank you once again for your help and for sharing your experience — it has been extremely valuable in navigating this situation.

I don't know where you live, perhaps the southern region of Belgium, or in France,
I gather from your name (perhaps that's a bit too simplistic).
But if you're not from Germany, I would try a VPN, and of course, with a German IP address.
The next time you connect and log in, use the VPN again.
Another problem can sometimes be using a Google Gmail email address from your country to another country, this is also rejected by various websites.
When I was looking for a Creamware card, I also used a VPN to create an account at https://www.kleinanzeigen.de
And that worked fine.
I hope you find success with one of these methods.

Just a quick update.
I tried creating a new account at kleinanzeigen.de using method 1,
with the VPN.
But that's not working anymore.
Too many IP addresses from various VPNs were used on kleinanzeigen.de.
When I was looking for a Creamware card, I only had Gmail email addresses.
so I created a different email address at https://mail.proton.me/.
Then I created an account from the Netherlands at https://www.kleinanzeigen.de, using the email address I created with mail.proton.me.
That worked perfectly.
I received an email to confirm it was me.
Then I had to provide a mobile phone number, a text message with a code was sent to that number.
Just enter that code on the website page, and you're done.
I hope this method works for you too.
By the way, the address for the Creamwaree card I gave you is the same person I bought it from.

Best wishes for the new year. Thank you for all this valuable information. We took a break over the holidays.
We are located in southwestern France, so quite far from Germany and Belgium.
It's been a little over two weeks since I filed a complaint on the Kleinanzeigen website, but to date, I still haven't received a response. I tried creating another account, but it's blocked because of my phone number. We'll try creating an account with someone else and see what happens.

It seems unusual to me, that you can't create an account from France.
Why is it possible to create an account from the Netherlands, but not from France?
That would be strange.
